1.3 Students with diverse linguistic, cultural, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds Demonstrate knowledge of teaching strategies that are responsive to the learning strengths and needs of students from diverse linguistic, cultural, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Example Individual Education Plans (IEP) It is important for educators to acknowledge that students all have individual linguistic, cultural, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds. This should be kept in mind when establishing teaching strategies and implementing them in the classroom. Often, IEP's can be useful in identifying student learning needs, highlighting teaching strategies/the role of school services and how student progress will be measured. IEP's work best when developed in collaboration with students and/or their parents. I developed three IEP's for students from varied background with varied learning needs. Whilst I have not had the opportunity to develop an IEP during any of my placements, the development of these hypothetical plans has given me an understanding of their purpose and benefit.

Example Activity- Inclusive Education The following activity was taught during my second placement and was also used as part of a university assignment. The teaching strategies are discussed below. Please click on the image below to access the entire document.
