3.3 Use teaching strategies Include a range of teaching strategies
Example Using a range of teaching strategies It is important to utilize a varying range of teaching strategies and pedagogies during lessons. This is due to the fact that students all learn differently and reach learning milestones at different rates. The use of the use of Tyson Yuntaporta’s 8 Ways of Learning Pedagogy is an excellent example of this. Please see the following link for evidence of this strand.
Example Using circle work in the classroom Teaching students in an established circle is a beneficial teaching strategy as it promotes restorative practices and skills in the classroom. It also encourages interaction between student and teacher and is conducive to creating an inclusive environment. During my final teaching placement, I have lead class discussion within a class circle. Rules are established at the beginning of the discussion, making students aware of what is expect of them.
