2.6 Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Implement teaching strategies for using ICT to expand curriculum learning opportunities for students
Example Development of a Interactive Learning Sequence This interactive Weebly is designed to encourage year four students to recognise and establish patterns and sequences involved in various maths equations. Each activity tests students mental ability and to help them understand ways to identify and recognise the various procedures involved in working out number patterns and sequences, including addition and subtraction. The activities displayed are designed to link to each learning outcome stated. The interactive components are included to actively engage the students in the process of identifying patterns present in number sequencing. The worksheets are designed to be visually attractive and inviting for the students. Although the worksheets are similar in content, they are designed to gradually increase in difficulty. Repeating this similarity will further ingrain the content matter in the students mind giving them the opportunity to further enhance the skills used throughout the lessons. A formative assessment is also included.
Example Integration of Smart Board use in lessons Throughout all placements, I have been fortunate to have access to Smart Boards in the classroom. I have integrated the use of this ICT tool into lessons and observed student engagement. The use of ICT compliments various teaching strategies and stimulates interest during lessons. Smart Boards can be used when teaching all content, and often prove effective in 'breaking up' lessons and maintaining student interest.
